Central Service

The Central Service of the General State Archives (GSA) is housed in a modern building in Psychiko.

In 2014, the General State Archives (GSA) celebrated one hundred years since their establishment, marking a long historical journey of uninterrupted operation and contribution.

Implementing a policy of openness and outreach, the Central Service (CS) of the GSA, making use of its modern building, leads a series of scientific and cultural activities, opening the doors of the GSA to the public through the organization of original exhibitions, screenings of rare audiovisual material, participation in innovative initiatives and educational programs.

The Central Service organizes a series of educational programs for students and teachers of all educational levels, adapted to the age and skills of the participants. These programs include workshops, archival material exhibitions and audiovisual presentations, through which users become familiar with important events in history.

Administrative Structure of the Central Service (CS)

The Central Service (CS) operates at the level of a General Directorate, headed by the General Director (GD) of the GSA.

It is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the individual Directorates and Departments, at both central and regional level, as well as for taking all necessary measures to improve the efficiency of the Services.
